World-renowned hunting brands boost their product to market capabilities

The global outdoor brands Seeland and Härkila are known among hunters for their high quality. however, the digital presentation of their products did not reflect the same high standard. the company behind them therefore needed to strengthen its digital presence.

The challenge

Danish company Outfit International, the owner of Seeland and Härkila, faced challenges with its digital go-to-market processes. It could take up to three days before descriptions and images of new products were ready for use on Outfit International’s own sales channels and with external retailers.

The root cause lay in the company's IT landscape, which had grown large and complex over time. Some of these systems required specialized knowledge to operate, while others were outdated and approaching end-of-life.

Within these systems, different types of data—particularly product data—remained isolated, as integrating them became increasingly difficult. As a result, getting product data distributed across various channels became a slow and cumbersome process.

With the increasing demand for faster product data deployment, Outfit International’s IT infrastructure struggled to keep up.

The goal: Freeing data

To find the best solution to their problem—how to ensure faster delivery of product data to sales channels, external partners, and retailers—Outfit International sought both business strategy consulting and a smarter approach to handling product information.

The goal was to free data from siloed systems, including product information management (PIM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and content management system (CMS), and to direct the data flow to the company’s e-commerce platform more efficiently.

The solution

In collaboration with Occtoo and inriver, we helped Outfit International strengthen its technical infrastructure.

All product data is now managed in inriver's PIM platform, handling product information for marketing—from creating new products to enriching data for sales in new markets.

Occtoo’s Experience Data Platform collects data from multiple sources, including ERP and PIM, and distributes product texts and images to sales channels, external partners, and retailers.

Where inriver PIM serves as the single source of truth for commercial product information, Occtoo acts as the single source of distribution for data dissemination.
